Artistic Style Flower Painting
Students create an artwork depicting a vase of flowers, using a combination of drawing and painting techniques.

Objective:
1. Research one artist flower painting 
2. Internalize the insights you have learned from your research and create your flower painting in a vase. 
3. Your interpretation of this painting through a feeling.  How will you create your flowers in a vase picture? What is the expression of creating this painting?  

Assignment 1
Find one artist flower painting and create a google slide to include the following aspect for the artist research: 
Slide1:
Title: Artistic Flower painting
Subtitle:  Your name and last name
Slide 2 
Title:  Artist study 1-upload one flower painting and include the following information.
· Who is the artist?
· What is the title? 
· What year of this artwork?
· What do you know about this artist?

 Artistic Style Flower Painting Gallery

The rubric of the Artistic Style Flower Painting:

1. Must have a vase or an object to hold the flowers
2.  Composition( layout of the flowers) 
Must have 8-10 flowers and 10 + leaves well balanced.  Must have evidence of overlapping and crop out.
3. Must to use the circle template to assure the scales of the flowers are not too small. 
4. Must have a table/ background. The entire paper is used to its full potential. No empty or overfilled space. 
5. Must show the evidence of three things you have learned from your artist's research.  
6. Must use various shades of colors to show 3D effects.
7. Must demonstrate color theory in the painting.

Assignment 2
Flowers in a vase painting rubric:
1.  Have a vase with evidence of highlight and shadow  
2.  Have at least 8 or more flowers and 20 or more leaves to cover more than half of the space on your paper. The flowers and leaves should naturally appear in different directions and overlapped to create depth.
3.   Flowers and leaves have a scientifically and botanically correct illustration and they are NOT from an imagination. 
4.  Well thought of composition and placement of the flowers and leaves to create areas of interest in their artwork. Have a design for the background( wall/ window/ table) 
5. Present one or more color theory with evidence of color mixing theory
6.  The final artwork should appear some distinguishing features that you have researched from the particular artist style.

Painting Steps:
1. Learning from botanical illustration to studying flowers closely. You can use the flower booklet as your reference. 
2.  Sketch with a good layout composition with at leaves 8  flowers and 20 leaves in a vase. You will need include a background. Use the circle templet to arrange the location and the size of the flowers .

3.  Use underpainting first and build up the textures  and colors to represent the style your have learned from the artist you chosen
 Use larger paintbrushes to paint one layer of under color for the flowers

Use smaller paintbrushes add texture for the details
