Coil Pottery-Week 8

 Take pictures before applying clear glaze
Ready for the final kiln firing 

Clay Stages
Coil Pottery from Ancient to Present Slide 
assignment 
Due date: 12/6 
Extention 12/9 
10 points will be taken off when submitting the slide after the due date. 
Make sure to clarify the clay stage

Greenware:

Bisqueware:
Bisqueware painted with the underglaze
Glazer:






Apply Clear Glaze- Demonstrate
* Three coats
First coat- dab it around for not smudging the underglaze
Use Hair blower to blow it dry
Second and third coats - brush it around to smooth the surface*Do Not Paint the bottoms of the sculpture
Clean the clear glaze with sponges*Write class code and name
Place on the cart if the coil vessel is ready for the kiln

Table 5 & 6: use the sink near the door
Table 3& 4: use the sink next to the portfolio cabinet.
Table 1&2: use the sink under the printmaking cabinet.
Materials/furniture to be cleaned:
paintbrushes
paint palette
use sponges to wash the tables
use paper towels to dry the tables
Things to place back:
Underglaze containers
Clear glaze containers
