Coil Pottery-Week 6

Continue the slide to answer the following aspects:

 Stages of Clay:
Coil Pottery from Ancient to Present Slide 
assignment 
Due date: 12/6 
Extention 12/9 
10 points will be taken off when submitting the slide after the due date. 
Make sure to clarify the clay stage

Taking Bisqueware Pictures to build the slides before painting the underglaze:


  • Showing Pictures of decorations/textures to support the theme and function
  • Use sandpapers to smooth the rough areas. Showing Pictures to demonstrate you have carefully used the craftsmanship to make you sculpture


Nothing jagged or it will be sharp. Edges are smoothly refined. The form is carefully planned. Walls are even thickness. Joining is secure and hidden. All surface is smooth without carless burns and scars. The final pinch pot sculpture is built with standing balance without wobbles. 


  Apply Underglaze:

*Underglaze colors can always be mixed together to create new colors.

  • Apply 3 coats 
  • Apply to bisque, wet clay or greenware.
  • Colors can be applied with a brush 
  • Intermixable for custom colors.
  • Apply gloss clear glaze to intensify color or for use with dinnerware fro waterproof purpose.
